The 10X Health test most people look up is the Methylation+ Genetic Test from 10X Health System, a US wellness company. As of October 2026 it costs $599 and reads 27 genes across six body systems from a saliva sample you collect at home, with a free wellness consultation included.

10X also sells a Precision genetic test for $1,299. Methylation+ is sold for the US market, and 10X doesn't sell it directly to UK customers.

Who 10X Health System is

10X Health System is a US wellness company co-founded by Grant Cardone, Brandon Dawson and Gary Brecka. Brecka's name was closely linked to its genetic methylation test, which is why many people still search for it as the Gary Brecka test.

Brecka and 10X parted ways at the end of 2024, and his name no longer appears on the product page. He now sells his own genetic methylation test in the UK, the Ultimate Human Wellness kit, through the retailer Healf. Methylation+ and Precision: what they cost

10X sells two genetic tests. Prices below were correct as of October 2026.

Methylation+ is HSA and FSA eligible. Those are US tax-advantaged health accounts (a Health Savings Account and a Flexible Spending Account), so US buyers can use pre-tax money to pay for it.

Methylation+ is a genetic test, so it reads variants in your DNA: single-letter differences called SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms). In methylation testing, the variants that matter sit in genes that make the enzymes your body uses to process nutrients such as folate and B12, and some are linked to lower enzyme activity. Your genes don't change, so this is a test you take once.

Having a consultation included matters, because a list of gene variants is hard to act on without someone to explain it.

Can you buy a 10X Health test in the UK?

Not directly. 10X sells Methylation+ for the US market and doesn't sell it directly to UK customers. Its prices are in US dollars, and HSA and FSA eligibility only helps US buyers.

If you're in the UK and want a genetic methylation test, look for one that's sold and supported here. Gary Brecka's own Ultimate Human kit is sold through Healf for £399 and reads 13 genes. Stride is a UK company based in Norwich, and its DNA & Methylation Test is available in the UK, Europe and the US, from £118.30 with a 1:1 consultation included. You take a cheek swab at home, and results come back in about 10 working days.

Where 10X blood testing fits

10X also sells a blood test, the 10X Full Blood Panel. It covers more than 70 biomarkers, you can do it at home or in some US cities, and a licensed clinician goes through the results with you. 10X doesn't list a price on its site, so check with them directly.

A blood test and a genetic test answer different questions. Your genes show tendencies you were born with. Blood markers such as folate, active B12, vitamin D and ferritin show where you are now, and they shift as your diet and health change. A gene result can point to the markers worth watching, while a blood test tells you whether they need attention.

In the UK, Stride's Optimal Bloods covers more than 70 biomarkers with a blood draw at home by a professional phlebotomist. StrideOne brings DNA, gut microbiome and blood testing together, with bloods and gut retested every six months. Both are UK only.

How Stride's DNA & Methylation Test compares

Both tests read methylation-related genes from a sample you collect at home. The main differences are where you can buy them and how much ground the report covers.

Every level of Stride's test covers MTHFR and COMT and reports on all five methylation cycles, with the genes for each:

• Folate cycle: DHFR, MTHFD1, MTHFR C677T and MTHFR A1298C

• Methionine cycle: MTR, MTRR, FUT2, TCN2, PEMT and BHMT

• Transsulphuration pathway: CBS C699T and GSS

• BH4 cycle: MTHFR A1298C, COMT, VDR, MAOA and MAOB

• Urea cycle: NOS3 and SOD2

Across more than 10,000 Stride results, almost everyone had at least one of these cycles flagged as working less efficiently. That says more about how common these variants are than about anyone's health.
